Saccade-Based Display: In the Bank

This installation, In the Bank, by Hideyuki Ando, Tetsutoshi Tabata, Junji Watanabe and Mariana Verdaasdonk, was presented as part of Des Cours, a 10-day annual architecture event held in the French Quarter of New Orleans, with art works installed in various locations such as courtyards, rooftops and old buildings.

In the Bank was installed in a former bank at 200 Carondelet. At first glance, it seems to be a very minimalist piece with only a few flickering lights set into the depths of the old bank, but when people move their heads from side to side, ghostly images appear to hang in mid air.
