Sasebo City Museum (Shimanose Art Center) Nagasaki, 2011

The ten "wands" of the LED saccade-based display system are set into a symmetrical arrangement of white cardboard boxes and emit visual images, alphabet letters, Japanese hiragana and kanji characters. Exploring the contact point between literature and visual/media art, this piece is inspired by the poem, Saikai Sanka (Hymn to the Western Sea), with original lyrics by Nagasaki native,  Ko Fujiura.
